ISLAMABAD: Pakistani TikToker Jannat Mirza has expressed strong concern over an AI-generated video circulating on social media that appears to use her face without permission.
The video shows a person resembling Jannat Mirza with an unidentified man, while the song “Achi Lagti Ho” plays in the background. Mirza shared the video on her Instagram Story and said that creating such content using someone’s face without consent is a serious matter.
“This video is not a joke at all,” Mirza said, adding that the misuse of a person’s face in such videos was “extremely concerning.”
She said that while her own face had been used in the video, the same technology could potentially be used to misuse images of other women without their knowledge.
Mirza also pointed out that even though she remains active on social media and was able to see the video, the situation could be more troubling for women who do not maintain a social media presence and may not know that their images are being misused.
Her comments have drawn attention to concerns surrounding AI-generated and manipulated content, particularly the unauthorised use of people’s faces and images online.
