BAHAWALPUR: Bahawalpur Islamia University has become the first university in South Punjab to award scholarships worth over Rs 800 million rupees.
According to the Director of Financial Aid, “Professor Dr. Areeba Khan ranks among the universities in Punjab for awarding the maximum number of scholarships and is at the forefront in South Punjab.”
“In yesterday’s budget, the scholarship funds provided by the federal and provincial governments have increased significantly. The students of Bahawalpur Islamia University will now receive more scholarships than before,” he said.
He advised incoming students not to let financial difficulties become a barrier to higher education.
“Do not hesitate to apply to universities because there are many scholarships available after acceptance,” he said.
Some of these scholarships provide easy financial benefits to cover living expenses and fees.
Dr Areeba Khan said, “Millions of scholarships are expected to be awarded this year through the Benazir Income Support Programme, Prime Minister’s Fee Payment Scheme, PEEF Scholarship, HEC Need-Based Scholarship Program and Fee Waiver”.
