IUB VC briefs Punjab adviser on new AI and climate programmes

BAHAWALPUR, April 22, 2026Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Vice Chancellor of The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, met with Ali Dar, Adviser to the Chief Minister of Punjab on artificial intelligence and special initiatives, to discuss the university’s academic developments in emerging technologies.

During the meeting in Bahawalpur, the vice chancellor briefed the adviser on ongoing efforts to integrate artificial intelligence and information technology into higher education. The discussion focused on expanding modern curricula and preparing students for technology-driven sectors.

Officials said the university has recently launched a new BS-level programme combining artificial intelligence and climate change, aimed at addressing evolving academic and environmental challenges.

Expansion of AI-based learning

The vice chancellor also informed that AI-blended teaching methods have been introduced across multiple departments to enhance learning outcomes and align academic programmes with industry trends.

Ali Dar acknowledged the university’s initiatives and appreciated efforts to promote AI-focused education and interdisciplinary learning.
