IT computer courses for blind students inaugurated in Abbottabad

Abbottabad: IT computer courses for blind students were formally inaugurated at the Jalal Baba Auditorium under the supervision of Empower Pak Welfare Organization. The initiative aims to provide modern IT education to visually impaired students, while also benefiting college students from the Hazara region.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Asif Khan Jadoon, President of Empower Pak Welfare Organization, Saira Mushtaq, District Social Welfare Officer, coordinator Sawira Javed Sagar, and other participants.

Addressing the ceremony, Dr Azhar Khan Jadoon said that providing modern IT education to persons with disabilities was the need of the hour. He stressed that such initiatives help special persons become self-reliant and earn a respectable place in society. He paid tribute to the efforts of Asif Khan Jadoon and his team for working consistently for the rights and welfare of visually impaired individuals and assured them of full cooperation.

District Social Welfare Officer Saira Mushtaq appreciated the initiative and said that the Social Welfare Department was actively working to improve facilities and opportunities for persons with disabilities across the district.

Speaking on the occasion, the President of the Blind Association, Asif Khan Jadoon, said that such training programmes had been conducted for a long time to ensure a brighter and more secure future for blind individuals. He added that skill-based education was essential to help them move forward independently in life.

Other speakers, including Sawira Javed Sagar, said they would continue to play their role in enhancing the skills of special persons and helping them adapt to modern technological requirements.
