ISLAMABAD – Business operating hours have been extended in the federal capital after the district administration issued a new notification.

According to the notification, shops, markets, shopping malls, and grocery stores will now be allowed to remain open until 9:00pm. Marriage halls, marquees, and event venues will be permitted to operate until 10:00pm.

The notification further stated that restaurants, cafes, and food outlets may remain open until 11:00pm, while takeaway and home delivery services are exempt from the restrictions.

Hospitals, clinics, medical laboratories, and pharmacies have also been exempted from the revised business-hour regulations. Similarly, bakeries, tandoors, dairy shops, petrol pumps, and CNG stations will not be subject to the restrictions.

The district administration said gyms, sports facilities, padel courts, IT companies, and call centres have also been granted exemptions.

According to the notification, the revised timings have been introduced under energy conservation measures and came into effect on June 10.

The notification will remain in force until further orders. The federal capital has implemented the revised business schedules as part of broader efforts aimed at energy savings.
