ISLAMABAD — Islamabad and Azerbaijan have agreed to collaborate on launching the Asan Khidmat Markaz, a one-window citizen service center designed to simplify access to public services. A delegation of architects and consultants from Baku discussed the initiative with Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, at CDA Headquarters.
The meeting, held on October 14, also included Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, DG Services, and DG Building Control. Both sides explored ways to strengthen technical cooperation. In particular, they focused on the design and execution of the Asan Khidmat Markaz project.
Chairman Randhawa said the project aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. Moreover, he added that it aims to improve service delivery in the capital. The center will bring multiple government services under one roof. As a result, citizens will be able to access facilities quickly and without bureaucratic hurdles.
He further explained that the Asan Khidmat Markaz will be developed in partnership with Azerbaijan’s Estate Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations. Meanwhile, the CDA is finalizing a suitable location for the facility. Randhawa noted that the project supports Pakistan’s shift toward a cashless economy. Therefore, modern technology will ensure efficient and transparent service delivery.
The Baku delegation assured full technical cooperation. In addition, they offered expertise in IT systems, architectural design, and service integration. They also expressed readiness to assist with the center’s construction and digital infrastructure. Furthermore, the delegation reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to strengthening ties with Pakistan.
Chairman Randhawa welcomed the support and said the project marks a milestone in Pakistan–Azerbaijan relations. He described it as a major step toward modern governance. He also pledged to benefit from Azerbaijan’s experience in efficient public service models.
The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to expedite the Asan Khidmat Markaz project and deepen institutional collaboration between Islamabad and Baku.
