Irish women’s cricketer Rebecca Stokell has admitted violating the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) anti-doping regulations after a sample collected from her in June 2026 tested positive for a prohibited substance.

According to the ICC, Stokell’s sample, collected on June 23, 2026, contained a specific prohibited substance. The cricket governing body said the case involved the use of prescribed medication.

Stokell has accepted a voluntary provisional suspension, effective from October 23, 2026, the ICC said.

The ICC added that it would not make further comments on the matter until the case has been decided.
