Islamabad: Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam paid a courtesy call on the Privatization, Investment Board and Communications Minister Abdul Aleem Khan today to discuss matters of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, the two officials exchanged views on the development of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran.
The meeting discussed the potential for increased trade and investment, as well as the potential for stronger cooperation in areas such as road infrastructure and trade corridors.
Minister Aleem Khan highlighted the strong religious and historical ties between Pakistan and Iran and said the importance of developing these ties. He also said that Pakistan wants to continue strengthening its relations with Iran in various sectors.
“We should try to improve cooperation between the two countries in all fields and remove all obstacles to trade and investment,” said Aleem. He also said that Pakistan’s economic growth offers attractive opportunities for foreign investment, adding that both countries can benefit from the exchange of skills and experiences.
The importance of cooperation in the transport sector and the problems to be solved in priority areas were also discussed in the discussion. Aleem said that Pakistan wants to increase foreign investment through a structured road map.
Issues related to the transportation sector will be resolved on a priority basis,” he said.
In the meeting, Federal Minister and Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam discussed ways to develop bilateral cooperation and stressed the importance of strengthening relations between Pakistan and Iran in this complex international environment. Both parties agreed that such cooperation would be beneficial.
