ISLAMABAD/TEHRAN: Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the foreign minister of Iran, on Monday expressed gratitude to the government and people of Pakistan for their support during the ongoing tensions involving Iran, the United States and Israel.
In a message posted on the social media platform X, Araghchi said he appreciated Pakistan’s expression of solidarity with Iran as regional tensions continue to rise.
The Iranian foreign minister said Iran remains committed to defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He added that the country would continue to rely on its own capabilities in responding to what he described as external aggression.
Araghchi also rejected claims linking Iran to attacks on Saudi Arabia, saying Tehran had no involvement in such incidents.

Earlier, he also dismissed remarks by Donald Trump suggesting that Iran had sought negotiations. According to Reuters, Araghchi said in an interview with CBS’s “Face the Nation” that Tehran had not requested a ceasefire or talks with Washington.
He said Iran would continue to defend itself and saw no reason for negotiations, noting that discussions had previously been underway before tensions escalated.
