DUBAI: Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 has appeared in a fresh design leak, offering an early look at a redesigned rear camera module that could give the next-generation smartphone a noticeably different appearance.

Images of an iPhone 18 dummy unit shared on X show two vertically arranged rear cameras, similar to the iPhone 17, but with a circular camera housing that changes the overall look of the device.

The new camera design appears to be the most prominent visual difference, suggesting Apple could introduce a fresh appearance for its standard iPhone model without significantly changing the camera arrangement.

Another detail visible in the leaked images is a MagSafe magnetic ring on the back of the phone. While MagSafe technology is already available on existing iPhones, the visible ring gives the dummy unit a distinctive appearance.

iPhone 18 expected to launch in early 2027

The standard iPhone 18 is expected to arrive during the first quarter of 2027 as Apple reportedly moves towards a revised release schedule for its smartphone lineup.

Under the reported strategy, Apple introduced the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and its first foldable iPhone in September 2026, leaving the standard iPhone 18 for a separate launch in early 2027.

The leaked dummy unit provides an early indication of the design changes Apple may be considering for the upcoming model, particularly around the rear camera housing.

However, Apple has not officially confirmed the design shown in the circulating images or announced a release date for the standard iPhone 18.

The final design and specifications will become clear when Apple formally unveils the device.
