Chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), Sajjad Mustafa, has stated that the ongoing internet speed issues in Pakistan are expected to be resolved within three months.
Speaking to a private TV channel, Sajjad Mustafa explained that if WhatsApp messages are being sent but images are not, it could indicate that monitoring is in progress.
He further mentioned that monitoring or the installation of firewalls occurs in every country, though there may be some gaps in the process in Pakistan. For instance, in the U.S., security personnel can arrive at a person’s home within 10 minutes if inappropriate content is shared.
The P@SHA chairman also clarified that there are no significant issues with fixed-line internet, and full-time IT workers generally face no challenges. However, part-time IT workers encounter difficulties due to the lack of fixed-line connections.
On a related note, the Pakistan Software Export Board has denied claims that IT companies are leaving Pakistan due to internet speed issues.
Chairman Sajjad Mustafa further assured that not a single IT company has exited Pakistan.
