The International Cricket Council (ICC) has brought the Champions Trophy from Dubai to Islamabad, with the trophy tour set to begin on November 16.
According to details, the trophy tour, which will continue until November 24, will start in Skardu. After Skardu, the Champions Trophy will be taken to the K2 base camp. The tour will also cover cities where the Champions Trophy matches are scheduled to take place. This is the first time that a trophy tour is starting without the tournament schedule being announced. The ICC usually announces tournament schedules four months before the event.
For instance, the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 schedule was announced four months prior in January, and the Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 schedule was released three months in advance in June. The ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled to be held in Pakistan from February 19 to March 9. The ICC was supposed to announce the schedule on November 11 in Lahore.
