Indian beauty content creator Renu Dharyal has set a Guinness World Record after her hair was officially measured at 8 feet 10 inches, earning her the title for the longest hair on a living female.
Dharyal surpassed the previous record held by Ukraine’s Aliia Nasyrova, whose hair was measured at 8 feet 5.3 inches. Dharyal has reportedly been growing her hair continuously since 2015.
Long Hair Inspired by Indian Tradition
Dharyal said long hair is traditionally associated with beauty and cultural heritage in India, which inspired her to maintain and grow her hair over the years.
However, maintaining hair of such extraordinary length requires considerable time and effort. She said washing, detangling and managing her hair can take several hours.
Natural Hair-Care Routine
Dharyal said she does not use chemical-based products for her hair care. Instead, she relies on homemade oils and shampoos made from natural ingredients.
She also shares the recipes and hair-care practices she uses with her followers through her YouTube channel.
Her achievement places her among the record holders recognized by Guinness World Records for extraordinary hair length.
