HONG KONG — Former India opener Shikhar Dhawan will represent the Asia Warriors alongside Pakistan’s Iftikhar Ahmed and Sohail Tanvir at the inaugural World T20 Continental Cup, scheduled to take place in Hong Kong in December 2026.
The tournament will feature four teams: Asia Warriors, Africa Lions, Europe Champions and North America Eagles. More than 60 former international cricketers from various countries are expected to participate.
According to the organisers, the competition will comprise nine matches, including the final. The event aims to bring retired international cricket stars back into action in the Twenty20 format.
Asia Warriors have announced a 24-member squad featuring Dhawan, Pakistan’s experienced all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed and left-arm fast bowler Sohail Tanvir.
Tanvir was part of Pakistan’s squad that won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2009.
The squad also includes India’s Rahul Sharma and Bangladesh’s experienced players Rubel Hossain and Mahmudullah Riyad.
The full tournament schedule has not yet been announced, but further details are expected to be released soon.
