Indian fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out of the upcoming five-match ODI series against New Zealand as he continues to recover from a left-thigh hamstring injury, according to reports.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said Krishna needs additional time to regain the fitness required to play competitive matches. He will also miss India A’s squad for the third and final four-day match against New Zealand A.
According to the report, the decision to withdraw him from the ODI series will give him more time to gain match fitness and prepare for the upcoming Test series.
Mohammed Siraj Available for India A
Fast bowler Mohammed Siraj is reportedly available for India A in the second four-day match against New Zealand A.
Krishna sustained his injury on September 30 during the second ODI against the West Indies in Guwahati, where he bowled only five overs before being forced out.
India’s Upcoming Series Schedule
India’s five-match ODI series against New Zealand is scheduled to take place from November 4 to 15, followed by a two-match Test series beginning on November 19.
The BCCI has not yet announced a replacement for Krishna in the ODI squad.
His recovery will remain a key factor as India prepare for the upcoming international fixtures.
