In view of the flood situation in District Jhelum, the District Police Officer (DPO) Jhelum visited the flood-affected area of Police Station Chotala. Due to heavy monsoon rains, a flood situation has arisen in the Chotala area. DPO Jhelum Tariq Aziz Sandhu, along with Deputy Commissioner Jhelum Maysam Abbas, was personally present in the field.
In the rescue operation, the Pakistan Army, Jhelum Police, Rescue 1122, and the district administration jointly rescued more than 90 citizens safely. Affected individuals are also being rescued with the help of a helicopter.
Under the supervision of the DPO, a heavy police presence has been deployed in the area to ensure timely assistance to affected citizens and to prevent any untoward incidents. The public has been requested to cooperate with the administration and to avoid visiting flood-affected areas unnecessarily.
According to the DPO, the safety of citizens’ lives and property is the top priority, and Jhelum Police is fully prepared to assist the public in any situation.
