In the general body meeting of the Abbottabad All Traders Federation, Sardar Shahnawaz has been elected president and Sajjad Khan Jadoon general secretary by a large majority. In the general body meeting supervised by the Chairman of the Central Election Commission All Traders Federation, Syed Farman Shah, Senior Member Tariq Khan Tanoli and Spokesperson Banaras Abbasi, 98 out of 150 members were elected by the presidents and general secretaries of sub-markets by raising their hands, while the President of the Abbottabad Press Club, Sardar Naveed Alam, as an observer, observed all the stages and declared the procedure transparent. In this regard, the Central Election Commission issued a notification for the newly elected president and general secretary for a period of one year and five months and directed them to complete the cabinet within 7 days.
On Saturday, the Central Election Commission had called a general body meeting at the District Council Hall after disqualifying former president Malik Naeem Awan and general secretary Haji Mumtaz Khan, in which the Qalandarabad Anjuman Tajran, including markets, supplies, Murree Road, Harno Bazaar, Main Bazaar, Gami Adda, Kunj Road, Al-Karka Bazaar and other markets were attended by 98 general body members. Before the election, the attendance of the general body members was completed and later Vice Chairman Banaras Abbasi sought unanimous opinion for the election of the president and general secretary, in which all the members present in the hall unanimously decided in favor of Sardar Shahnawaz for the president and Sajjad Khan Jadoon for the general secretary and raised their hands. On this occasion, the newly elected president Sardar Shahnawaz and general secretary Sajjad Khan Jadoon said that they are field players and that the election is a part of victory and defeat. Earlier, when they were defeated, they had openly admitted it. Former president Malik Naeem Awan and general secretary Haji Mumtaz Khan have completely failed to protect the rights of traders.
Now they want to convince the administration that these are transparent elections in which 42,000 traders of Abbottabad are represented. Any officer should take the president and general secretary of All Traders Federation into confidence before taking action in any market. They will not tolerate any kind of abuse against traders. Addressing those who did not attend the general body meeting, he also asked them to come and work together for the broader interests of the traders. Meanwhile, the business leaders congratulated the newly elected president and general secretary, garlanded them and paid tribute to the Central Election Commission. At the end of the general body meeting, the members were treated to lunch.
