KARACHI: Former federal minister and senator Faisal Vawda has said Imran Khan will not escape punishment in the £190 million case. Speaking to the media in Karachi, Senator Faisal Vawda said that PTI leaders were involved in a conspiracy against Imran Khan and wanted to keep the founder in jail. He said that propaganda is being spread that there is a back door going on with Imran Khan and that PTI founder’s wife is leading the talks. The former federal minister added that he had advised the PTI founders before releasing the £190 million that it should not have been done. Imran Khan signed and now no one is responsible for it. “The crime was committed four and a half years ago and I warned Imran Khan then. Faisal Vawda said that PTI’s attempts at hooliganism and protests proved futile. He repeatedly told the PTI founder that his associates wanted not only to imprison him but also to have him killed. He added that the propaganda about foreign pressure has now stopped. He stressed that the PTI founder would definitely face punishment in the £190 million case, calling it an “open and shut” case. “The PTI will face nothing but disappointment on January 20,” he said, adding that there was neither foreign pressure nor backdoor. The former federal minister further clarified that being popular does not mean being above the law. He expressed strong support for negotiations, saying that the beauty of democracy lies in dialogue and there should be no dishonesty in negotiations. He claimed that the PTI members are enjoying the meeting while the PTI founder does not get any executive orders. Vawda concluded by saying that PTI’s actions had given the “Form 47 government” a legal basis.
