ISLAMABAD — Former prime minister Imran Khan has offered a rare glimpse into his daily life behind bars, detailing his meals, exercise routine and health concerns in a report submitted to the Supreme Court of Pakistan as part of ongoing proceedings over his prison conditions.

According to the report, Khan begins his day at around 9:45am with a simple breakfast of coffee, porridge and dates. Late in the morning, he spends about an hour reciting the Holy Quran before turning to physical exercise using the limited equipment available in his compound — an exercise bike, two nine-kilogram weights and a bar.

After showering at approximately 1:15pm, he is allowed time in a secured strolling area where he may sit or walk. Lunch, described as his main meal of the day, is served between 3:30pm and 4:00pm. From around 5:30pm until 10:00am the next morning, he remains confined to his cell.

A self-funded weekly meal plan

The report states that Khan personally selects his weekly menu, which is financed by his family. His lunch rotation includes chicken on two days, meat on two days and lentils on two days, with occasional snacks such as chaat. Bottled water is provided.

He does not eat a full dinner. Instead, his evening meal consists of fruit, milk and dates.

Health concerns and court directives

Alongside describing his routine, Khan raised concerns about medical care. He said regular blood tests were not being conducted and that he had not received dental consultation despite repeated requests over two years. He also claimed that access to his personal physicians was restricted during a period when his eye condition worsened.

The Supreme Court has ordered the formation of a medical team to examine his eye and directed that he be allowed to speak with his children before February 16.
