DUBAI: Pakistan’s young batter Hasan Nawaz has been added to the Desert Vipers squad for the fifth season of the International League T20 (ILT20).
The 23-year-old cricketer will replace England’s Aneurin Donald, who has been selected for England’s T20 International series against Australia.
Hasan Nawaz has previously represented the Desert Vipers and played a key role in helping the team win the title earlier this year.
The young batter scored 291 runs in the Pakistan Super League at a strike rate of 134.1, while he also made 220 runs for Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the Caribbean Premier League, where his team went on to win the CPL title.
Desert Vipers Chief Executive Phil Oliver welcomed Hasan Nawaz’s return, saying the batter is already familiar with the team environment and played a significant role in the franchise’s success during the previous season.
Hasan’s inclusion strengthens the Desert Vipers’ squad as they prepare to defend their ILT20 title.
