Promoting environmentally friendly policies and sustainable practices is the need of the hour, says Special Assistant to the Ministry of Overseas for Italy on World Environment Day
ITALY: Special Assistant to the Ministry of Overseas for Italy, Ikramuddin, has called for collective and sustained efforts to protect the environment, conserve natural resources and address the growing challenges posed by climate change.
In his message on the occasion of World Environment Day, Ikramuddin said environmental pollution, climate change, deforestation, water scarcity and the loss of biodiversity remain among the most serious threats facing the world today.
He noted that Pakistan is among the countries most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, making the promotion of environmentally friendly policies and sustainable practices more important than ever.
Ikramuddin urged young people to play an active role in environmental protection by planting trees, conserving water, reducing pollution and adopting eco-friendly habits in their daily lives.
He emphasized that protecting the environment is not solely the responsibility of governments and institutions but requires the participation of every citizen.
“A green, safe and sustainable Pakistan is the shared responsibility of all of us,” he said, adding that collective action today will help secure a healthier and more prosperous future for generations to come.
