MARDAN: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Akhtar Hayat Khan, visited Mardan On Wednesday , where he presided over a high-level meeting with police officials. The meeting focused on devising strategies to combat terrorism in the region. Detailed discussions were held on counter-terrorism measures, and the performance of various police units in tackling terrorism was thoroughly reviewed.The IGP instructed the Additional IGP Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) to organize regular coordination meetings with other police units, including the District Police and Special Branch, at the regional level to streamline efforts against terrorism. Additionally, the IGP directed the CTD to hold monthly meetings in all regions, assess counter-terrorism initiatives, and submit progress reports to the IGP.Later, IGP Akhtar Hayat Khan inaugurated the newly renovated DPO Office Mardan. He was accompanied by RPO Mardan Najeeb-ur-Rehman, DPO Mardan Zahoor Babar Afridi, and other senior officials. This renovation project aims to enhance police performance and improve the quality of public service.The renovation has transformed the DPO Office into a modern facility, providing a comfortable environment for officers and visitors. Key additions include a state-of-the-art conference room, a well-equipped waiting area, and improved overall facilities. The purpose of this project is not only to provide a conducive working environment for police officers but also to make public services more efficient and transparent.
On this occasion, IGP Akhtar Hayat Khan emphasized that better facilities and a conducive environment play a vital role in enhancing police efficiency. He urged officers to prioritize public service and ensure the rule of law. He also stressed the need for further improvements in police performance to curb crimes and address public grievances effectively.
