DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has launched a new artificial intelligence tool as part of its social media moderation program for the Women’s T20 World Cup to help protect players from harmful content. The move will help women cricketers avoid hate speech, harassment and misogyny during the mega event. The cricket body released a statement on the opening day of the 2024 T20 World Cup, saying the software would “encourage a more positive and inclusive online experience for teams and players”. According to a statement issued by the ICC, 60 cricketers participating in the event have already joined the programme.
