The ICC has announced the draw and grouping for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, which will begin on February 19 in Karachi and end on March 9. The tournament will feature eight teams, 15 matches and will be held in Pakistan and Dubai.
In Pakistan, matches will be held at three venues: Rawalpindi, Lahore and Karachi, each of which will host three group matches. Lahore will host the second semi-final and the final on March 9 unless India qualify, in which case the final will be played in Dubai. Both semi-finals and finals will include alternate days.
India’s three group matches and the first semi-final are being played in Dubai.
The tournament begins on February 19 when Pakistan take on New Zealand in the Group A opener in Karachi. The Dubai matches start the next day, with India playing Bangladesh. Group B action begins on February 21 when Afghanistan take on South Africa in Karachi.
A highly-anticipated weekend follows, with England taking on Australia in Lahore on February 22, followed by the much-anticipated Pakistan-India clash the day after.
The Champions Trophy features the top eight teams from the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 points table. Group A includes the hosts and reigning Champions Trophy winners Pakistan, India, New Zealand and Bangladesh. Group B includes the 2023 Cricket World Cup champions Australia, England, South Africa and Afghanistan, all vying for the prestigious white jackets for the winners.
All matches will be day-night.
