Hunza, Pakistan – Humnava’s inaugural season is underway in Pakistan’s Hunza Valley, launching a new global music and art camp that brings together musicians from around the world for collaboration, co-creation, and cultural exchange. Over 30 days, international and Pakistani musicians will live and create together, transforming the valley’s landscapes and communities into catalysts for original music that will travel globally as soundtracks, videos, and a feature docufilm.

Speaking on Humnava, Co-Founder & Creative Director Xulfi (Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan) shared:
“Humnava is a companion. A companion, a partner in your life who’s there for you. There’s this concept of Humnava that exists in Qawwali. If you look at it, one of their main aims and intents is to keep the qawwals in rhythm, to empower them, and to keep everything in sync, while expressing themselves wholeheartedly.
Today, I feel the world is out of sync. And with that comes a scarcity of hope.

Humnava is that community of artists, who through music and melody, not only create songs, but try and slowly begin restoring the hope balance on this planet. Call it optimism or a dream, but I’ve always maintained and believed that music is the ultimate bridge of love that helps us see beyond differences based on religion, race, color, ideologies, and politics. More than ever, today the world needs to see beyond these to create hope for future generations.

Humnava, blessed by artists coming from other parts of the world, gathering in Hunza, collaborating with musicians from Hunza and other parts of Pakistan, is a proof point that we can see beyond differences and opinions and eventually, hope can exist for the planet. We just need to believe it’s possible. We just need to know that the power of love, kindness and care eclipses every toxicity.”
At its core, Humnava is a movement for connection using music as a universal bridge to bring new timelines to life through people-to-people contact and cultural exchange. It positions Pakistan as a host of global artistic dialogue, highlighting the country’s creative energy and readiness to collaborate on the world stage.

Humnava leverages strategic collaborations with global music platforms, including Spotify, YouTube, TikTok, and UNESCO-aligned institutions, as ladders to the creative economy, ensuring that the music created in Hunza reaches international audiences while opening new pathways for monetization, touring, and cultural diplomacy.

Co-Founder of Giraffe Muhammad Ibrahim noted:
“Humnava is not just about music; it’s about shaping a new cultural and creative economy for Pakistan — one built on sustainability, inclusion, and global collaboration. By fostering equitable exchange and enabling artists to participate in international ecosystems, we’re creating a framework that both empowers local talent and positions Pakistan as a hub for cultural innovation. Humnava is proof that when creativity meets purpose, it can drive economic growth, build soft power, and tell the world a new story about Pakistan. This is just the beginning.”
Designed to be annual and itinerant, Humnava will travel across Pakistan in future editions, deepening local capacity, strengthening networks, and amplifying sustainable creative ecosystems across regions.
