Hospital Director Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Khan and Medical Director Prof. Dr. Muhammad Said conducted an extensive inspection of the Mardan Medical Complex (MMC) and the Benazir Bhutto Children Hospital (BBCH) to assess and review the healthcare services being provided to patients.
During their visit in MMC, they inspected key areas including the Sehat Card Plus (SSP) record room, attendant bays, waiting areas, and the lawns. Manager Administration and Facity Dr Farhan Akram, Acting Nursing Director Noor Zada, Focal person for SSP Dr Qasim Khan and other relevant officials were also present.
Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Khan issued specific directives aimed at improving the infrastructure and patient experience.
He instructed hospital staff to repaint the attendant bays, relocate water coolers to more accessible and appropriate places, installation of fans and water coolers for patients and attendants and prioritize the repair of damaged sewerage lines.
Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of installing notice boards outside each ward to display important public notices, patient care guidelines, and staff information to ensure transparency and enhance communication with patients and their families.
They also visited various critical departments of BBCH, including the Out-Patient Department (OPD), Emergency, Radiology, and Pathology. During these inspections, they reviewed the quality and efficiency of services being provided to patients. The two officials evaluated the condition and functionality of medical equipment, the overall cleanliness of the facility, and the availability of medicines. They also checked staff attendance and took stock of any pressing needs in these departments.
HD Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Khan stressed the need to maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout the hospital premises. He instructed the relevant managers for complete details of equipment inventory along with relevant details about their condition , placement and usage.
To ensure continuous improvement, he called for a detailed presentation covering the progress and key focus areas of the ongoing BBCH project.
