Cristiano Ronaldo may have left the Portugal squad, but his influence was still evident during Denmark’s match against Portugal.
Danish striker Rasmus Højlund, who has previously described Ronaldo as his idol, caught attention after celebrating his goal in the Portuguese superstar’s trademark “Siu” style.
Højlund scored in the 53rd minute to bring Denmark level at 2-2 before immediately recreating Ronaldo’s famous celebration.
Another moment involving Højlund attracted attention after the final whistle. During the customary handshakes, the Danish striker appeared to have a brief heated exchange with Portugal coach Jorge Jesus and seemingly gave him a light push before moving on.
Portugal eventually won the match 4-2, securing a third consecutive Nations League victory under Jesus.
