HEC announces final Law Admission Test schedule for 2026

ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced the final schedule for the Law Admission Test (LAT) 2026, setting out key dates for students seeking admission to five-year LLB programmes across Pakistan.

The LAT is a mandatory requirement for admission to law programmes offered by universities recognised by the HEC and the Pakistan Bar Council. Students who have completed their Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or are awaiting results are eligible to apply.

According to the announced schedule, the third LAT will be announced on May 10, 2026, with registration closing on May 25. The test will be held on June 21, while results are expected on August 3.

The fourth LAT is scheduled to be announced on July 26. Registration will remain open until August 10, and the test will take place on September 6. Results will be declared on October 16.

The fifth and final LAT of the year will be announced on October 4. The last date to apply is October 20, while the test will be conducted on November 15. Results are scheduled for December 24.

HEC stated that the test will assess candidates through multiple-choice questions, an essay, and a personal statement. The paper carries 100 marks, and candidates must secure at least 50 marks to qualify.

Applicants have been instructed to bring original identification documents, including CNIC, passport, or B-form, along with academic credentials on the day of the exam.
