On the directives of Health Advisor Ihtesham Ali, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has successfully repatriated staff who had been holding positions in the Health Secretariat unrelated to their original postings for years.
Advisor Ihtesham Ali emphasized that every employee must serve in their designated position, and only qualified individuals will be assigned to specific roles. He stated, “The notion that there is no competent person in the Secretariat must end. If required, appointments for these posts will be made through interviews to ensure merit-based selection.”
According to a notification issued by the Health Department, 17 employees have been repatriated, including one Grade 18 officer, two Grade 17 officers, six Grade 16 officers, and eight Grade 11 staff members.
The notification reads a Grade 18 pharmacist from the Drug Control Authority, previously serving as Deputy Secretary Drugs and Secretary Pharmacy Council, has been reassigned to their original department. It further reads that a Grade 17 Assistant Director and a Superintendent have been sent back to their respective fields.
The notification narrates that two computer operators, three assistants, and seven junior clerks from Grades 16 and 11 have also been repatriated to their relevant offices. This move by the Health Department is being hailed as a significant step toward promoting transparency and meritocracy in the administrative machinery.
