PESHAWAR: The leadership of HBK Group met with officials from the United States Consulate General in Peshawar to discuss trade opportunities, commercial linkages and potential business cooperation between Pakistan and the United States.
The meeting was held with Kapil Gupta, Political and Economic Section Chief at the US Consulate General Peshawar, and accompanying diplomats. Discussions focused on expanding private-sector engagement, exploring export prospects and strengthening business connections between Pakistani companies and American suppliers and manufacturers.
HBK Group was represented by Amir Khan, Director of HBK Blankets, and Dr Muhib Afridi, Chief Executive Officer of HBK Hypermarket. They briefed the visiting delegation on the group’s manufacturing and retail operations, expansion plans and growing presence in Pakistan’s consumer and home textile sectors.
Export and retail opportunities discussed
During the meeting, HBK Group highlighted its textile and home products, including its blanket manufacturing operations, and expressed interest in exploring export opportunities in international markets, including the United States.
The two sides also discussed market trends, trade facilitation mechanisms and the broader potential for commercial cooperation between Pakistani businesses and American partners.
Representatives of HBK Hypermarket also discussed plans to expand the availability of authentic American products for consumers in Pakistan through direct business links with US suppliers and manufacturers.
Focus on private-sector engagement
The meeting also covered commercial diplomacy, private-sector participation and the need for a supportive business environment for enterprises in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and across Pakistan.
Gupta reaffirmed the importance of the US Mission’s engagement with the business community and its support for efforts aimed at promoting mutually beneficial trade and commercial ties.
HBK Group appreciated the outreach of the US Mission to the private sector and reiterated its commitment to expanding its manufacturing and retail footprint while exploring new avenues for international collaboration.
