ISLAMABAD, September 16, 2026: Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has expressed his desire to return to Test cricket after making an impressive start in the President’s Trophy Grade-I.
Representing PTV, Rauf claimed five wickets against OGDCL in the opening match of the tournament, renewing his interest in red-ball cricket.
Rauf has played only one Test for Pakistan. He made his Test debut against England in Rawalpindi in December 2022 and took one wicket during the match.
The fast bowler delivered 13 overs before suffering an injury while fielding, which ruled him out of the remainder of the series. He has not played Test cricket for Pakistan since.
Speaking in a recent interview, Rauf said he wanted to make himself available for Pakistan in the longest format and believed his bowling could be useful to the national team.
“I will try my best to make myself available for Test cricket,” he said.
Rauf’s comments come after Pakistan were recently whitewashed 3-0 by England in a Test series, with the national side also sitting at the bottom of the World Test Championship standings, according to the source report.
His return to red-ball cricket would provide another option for Pakistan’s Test bowling attack if he is selected and remains fit.
