ISLAMABAD, Sunday, September 20, 2026: More than 17,000 intending pilgrims have completed their bookings under Pakistan’s Hajj 2027 Private Scheme, while Rs14 billion has been transferred to authorised Hajj operators through the official digital portal, the Ministry of Religious Affairs said.
A spokesperson for the ministry said the bookings were completed through the Pak Hajj App, which allows private pilgrims to select authorised operators and Hajj packages through the government-backed digital system.
According to the ministry, Rs14 billion has so far been transferred to the accounts of authorised Hajj companies through the National Information Technology Board’s digital Hajj portal. Of the amount deposited, Rs6 billion was paid online through 1LINK and bank cards.
54,000 private Hajj seats still available
The ministry said around 54,000 seats remain available under the Private Hajj Scheme and urged intending pilgrims to use the Pak Hajj App to select their preferred packages from authorised Hajj operators.
Pilgrims can complete the process from home, including selecting a Hajj organiser and making payments through the designated digital system.
The ministry stressed that intending pilgrims should verify their booking and make payments only through the official Pak Hajj App and portal.
Ministry warns against direct payments
The Religious Affairs Ministry warned pilgrims not to make direct payments to any individual or Hajj company, saying such transactions were prohibited under the booking mechanism.
The spokesperson said payments for private Hajj packages should be made exclusively through the Pak Hajj App. The ministry would not be responsible for fraud or financial losses arising from payments made through unauthorised channels, the spokesperson added.
The warning is aimed at protecting intending pilgrims from fraudulent operators and ensuring that payments are transferred only to companies authorised to handle Hajj 2027 bookings.
Private Hajj booking deadline set for November 20
The ministry said the deadline for bookings under the Hajj 2027 Private Scheme is November 20, 2026.
Intending pilgrims seeking to travel through the private scheme have been advised to complete their registration and payment process before the deadline and use only the official digital booking mechanism.
