ISLAMABAD — The Ministry of Religious Affairs has initiated the disbursement of Rs. 3.45 billion in refunds to Haj pilgrims who undertook Haj this year through the government’s regular scheme. The announcement was made by Federal Minister Sardar Muhammad Yousuf, who confirmed that the refund process is scheduled to conclude by October 31.

Minister Yousuf highlighted several improvements made during Haj 2025, including the provision of air-conditioned tents in Mina, featuring gypsum walls and folding mattresses—marking a first in the government scheme’s history. He also noted that the quota for government-sponsored Haj pilgrims was increased by 30,000 this year, and all bookings under both public and private schemes have been finalized.

A short-stay option will cost Rs. 1.2 million, while the traditional 40-day package is priced at Rs. 1.15 million. Pilgrims are required to deposit the second installment of Rs. 650,000 at designated banks between November 3 and November 15.

To enhance connectivity, each pilgrim will receive a Saudi SIM card loaded with 300 to 600 complimentary internet minutes. Minister Yousuf also expressed gratitude to Saudi Minister for Haj and Umrah Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah and Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki for their continued support in facilitating Pakistani pilgrims.
