House of BLA Leader Demolished in Gwadar, Conflicting Accounts Emerge

GWADAR — The house of a Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) leader was demolished overnight in Gwadar’s Panwan area, triggering sharply conflicting claims about how and why the operation was carried out.

According to accounts circulating locally, the home belonging to a BLA leader was razed late into the night on February 13. Supporters aligned with the government narrative claim heavy machinery was used by locals to remove the structure in defiance of militant activity linked to the banned group.

Baloch activists, however, allege that Pakistani security forces conducted a late-night operation that continued until around 3 a.m., describing the demolition as part of a broader security response in the province.

As of publication, no official statement has been issued by security authorities clarifying the circumstances of the demolition. Independent verification of the competing claims remains unavailable.

Rising security tensions

The demolition comes amid heightened security tensions in Balochistan following recent militant attacks that authorities have attributed to the BLA. Gwadar, a strategically important coastal city, has remained under increased security scrutiny in recent weeks.

It remains unclear whether the property was occupied at the time of demolition or whether any injuries were reported.

Further clarification from provincial authorities is awaited.
