Meeting held to resolve traffic issues caused by Sunday Bazar on GT Road

GT ROAD, March 31: Officials of the Motorway Police and representatives of the local business community held a meeting to address traffic congestion and public inconvenience caused by the Sunday Bazar operating along GT Road.

The discussion focused on finding a permanent solution to the obstruction of traffic flow on the national highway, where commercial activities and roadside parking have been causing safety concerns.

According to details, DSP Motorway Police Beat Four Manzoor Khan met with Showrooms Association President Rafiq Bajwa, along with Admin Officer Iqbal Chalasi and Inspector Malik Faisal. The DSP noted that showroom activities and vehicle parking along the highway are disrupting traffic and pose risks to commuters.

He said such activities are not permitted under National Highway Authority (NHA) rules and warned that legal action would be taken against violations. He also called for cooperation from showroom owners and union representatives to remove encroachments and restore smooth traffic flow.

Rafiq Bajwa assured authorities of full cooperation and agreed to relocate the Sunday Bazar within 24 to 48 hours.

Officials said the move is expected to ease traffic congestion and improve safety for commuters on the busy route.
