While eating peanuts on a cold winter evening might have thought where these tasty nuts grown? Whether we need large agricultural farms or land for planting them or either there is any option to grow them at home? Today we will tell you about growing peanuts at home in pots.
Firstly, purchase peanuts from nearby shop or vendour and scrap their shells.
1. Now soak the raw peanuts in water for 8 to 12 hours.
2. Use well-draining soil and large pots with drainage holes to sow the peanut.
3. Plant the soaked peanuts 1-2 inches deep at distance of 6-8 inches.
4. Place the said pots in a location where it can get 6-8 hours of sunlight per day.
5. Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged, water regularly.
6. Use a balanced fertilizer occasionally to motivate the growth of seeds.
7. Watch for yellow flowers when they appear and then form “pegs” that poke into the ground, these will produce peanuts.
8. After the leaves turn yellow, dig up the plants. Let the peanuts dry for 1-2 weeks.
9. Now remove the peanuts from the pods and store in a cool, dry place. Enjoy your harvest!
