Grand welcome held in Lower Dir for Pakistan U-19 fast bowler Muhammad Siyam

LOWER DIR — A grand welcome ceremony was held in Timergara, Lower Dir, in honour of Muhammad Siyam, the rising fast bowler of Pakistan’s Under-19 cricket team, celebrating his achievement at the national level.

The reception was organized at Israr Cricket Academy Timergara, where Siyam was warmly received with garlands and flowers. A large number of cricket fans, young players, social figures, and representatives of the district administration attended the event.

Praise for emerging talent from Lower Dir

Addressing the ceremony, Peshawar Region Cricket Association President Gulzada congratulated Muhammad Siyam on his selection, saying that Lower Dir has consistently produced talented cricketers. He said Siyam earned his place in the national Under-19 team through hard work, discipline, and dedication, and assured continued support for young talent from the Peshawar region.

President of the District Cricket Association Lower Dir, Aftab Ali, described Siyam’s success as a moment of pride for the entire district. He highlighted the role of cricket academies, particularly Israr Cricket Academy, in grooming players at the grassroots level.

Encouragement from officials and administrators

District Cricket Association General Secretary Muslim Khan said Muhammad Siyam impressed selectors in a short span of time with his pace and performance, calling it a motivating example for aspiring young cricketers. He reaffirmed the association’s commitment to supporting emerging players.

Additional Assistant Commissioner Timergara Janbaz said sports help guide youth toward positive activities and assured full administrative support for the promotion of sports in the district. He extended his best wishes to the young fast bowler for his future career.

Speaking at the event, Muhammad Siyam said he considers his achievement the result of the prayers and hard work of his parents, along with the guidance of his coaches and teachers. He pledged to continue working hard to represent Pakistan with honour and bring further success to the country.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of shields and souvenirs to Muhammad Siyam, while participants expressed their best wishes for his future.
