ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Friday that the present government is determined to equip the country’s youth with modern skills to cope with the demand of the global market. In a meeting with London Vice Chancellor Wendy Thomson who called on him here, the Prime Minister said that the youth of Pakistan have been able to show their mettle in all walks of life and bring laurels to the country. He told the visiting dignitary that Pakistani nationals are serving in the international market and have graduated from London University and other world renowned institutions. The Prime Minister said that the government has introduced various schemes including merit-based and employment-based foreign scholarships and has also formulated new strategies in this regard. Deputy Speaker Wendy Thomson praised Prime Minister Shehbaz for his government’s recent initiatives to promote education in the country. The meeting was attended by Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar, Economic Affairs Minister Ahad Khan Cheema and other relevant senior officers.
