Govt, private sector to boost Pakistan-Chile trade and investment

Ambassador Hassan Afzal Khan visited the Republic of Chile, in the third week of June 2025, and had productive engagements with key stakeholders across government and private sector, to advance the bilateral trade and investment ties between Pakistan and Chile.

Discussions with Mr. Jose Miguel Gonzalez, Minister Counsellor, Asia-Pacific Affairs Division, Mr. Pablo Urria, Head of the Department of Asia & Oceania, SUBREI, MOFA, Mr. Juan Pablo Candia ,  Head of Strategy and Corporate Management Division and Mr. Juan Pablo Garnica, Sector Leader -Global services and Digital Economy, InvestChile centered around enhancement of bilateral trade and investment through increased collaboration between the countries. During the interactions various issues related to visa issues, service delivery and cooperation in IT sector were also discussed at length.

Detailed meetings were also held with the authorities of Chambers of commerce, Iquique Free Trade zone, ZOFRI and Mr. Jose Miguel Carvajal, Governor Tarapacá, Iquique, during which the way forward to increase business between the countries was discussed.

Consular services were also provided to the Pakistani community by the consular team at Santiago and Iquique.
