Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has assured farmers in Tehsil Paroa of efforts to restore water supply to the Chashma Right Bank Canal (CRBC) at the earliest, following a breach that has disrupted the irrigation system.
The assurance came during a meeting with a delegation of local elders and farmers, who discussed challenges facing the area, including the canal’s restoration, law and order and other local issues.
During the meeting, the delegation informed the governor about the difficulties farmers were facing due to the breach and urged him to ensure the early restoration of water supply to the irrigation network.
Governor Kundi stressed that the damaged section must be properly repaired and reinforced to prevent further breaches and possible damage to surrounding areas once water flow resumes.
He said repair and restoration work was progressing rapidly and assured the delegation that necessary measures would be taken to resume water supply immediately after the work was completed, allowing farmers to irrigate their crops on time.
The law and order situation in Tehsil Paroa was also discussed. The governor emphasized that establishing lasting peace and addressing unrest in the area were key priorities requiring effective coordination with the relevant authorities.
He assured the delegation that he would raise the concerns of local residents, farmers and traders with the concerned administrative authorities and make every possible effort to resolve their grievances.
