Issue of Summer Vacations in Punjab Schools from June 1
The Private Educational Society has rejected the announcement of holidays starting from June 1.
“Schools should be allowed to open from June 1 to June 15 from 7 AM to 10 AM,” said Qari Asif.
“Permission should be granted for summer camps for grades nine and ten for a short duration,” stated Advocate Amjad.
“It has become routine to close schools under the pretext of extreme heat or cold,” said the Private Educational Society.
“It has also become routine to suspend educational activities under the pretext of emergencies and security concerns.”
A review of the notification regarding holidays in educational institutions is necessary, expressed the central and founding president of the Private Educational Society, Hafiz Muhammad Basharat, in a statement.
Due to the change in the curriculum for grades nine and ten, students have already not completed their syllabus.
The solution to the heat issue is to provide private educational institutions with solar systems rather than closing schools.
The government has already declared an educational emergency for out-of-school children.
Holidays will further affect educational activities in institutions.
The government should reconsider its decision
