In a significant relief for passport applicants, the wait for normal passport delivery has been significantly reduced.
Citizens will now receive their regular passports in just 20 days, ending the long delays that plagued the process for months.
This improvement in delivery times comes after the installation of new printing machines along with increased manpower and 24-hour printing.
Director of Immigration and Passports Southern Region Saeed Abbasi confirmed in an interview with Private Television that the overhaul of the system has enabled passports to be delivered within the stipulated 20-day time frame.
“For a long time, delivery of passports was delayed by months, but with this new development, we are now able to provide passports on time,” Abbasi said.
In addition to the standard 20-day delivery, Abbasi outlined the availability of expedited services.
Passports processed through the expedited system will be delivered within two days, while those using the expedited fee service will receive their documents within 10 days.
