Pakistan gold market rebounds on May 12 as prices climb Rs4,100 per tola

ISLAMABAD, May 12: Gold prices in Pakistan rose sharply on Tuesday, with the price of 24-karat gold increasing by Rs4,100 per tola following fluctuations in the international bullion market.

According to rates issued by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24-karat gold per tola climbed to Rs492,462 from Rs488,362 recorded on the previous trading day.

The increase comes a day after gold prices had fallen by Rs5,300 per tola in Monday’s trading session.

The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold increased by Rs3,515 to Rs422,206, while 10 grams of 22-karat gold rose by Rs3,222 to Rs387,036.

International gold and silver rates also rise

In the international market, gold prices gained $41 per ounce to reach $4,701, compared to $4,660 previously.

Silver prices also moved upward in both local and global markets.

The price of silver per tola in Pakistan increased by Rs395 to Rs8,908, while the rate for 10 grams of silver rose by Rs339 to Rs7,637.

Globally, silver prices climbed by $3.95 to settle at $84.24 per ounce.

Bullion traders said local gold prices continued to track changes in international commodity markets and currency movements.
