ISLAMABAD: Gold prices in Pakistan declined on Monday, with the price of 24-karat gold per tola dropping by Rs1,800 to Rs522,762, according to figures released by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.

The decrease reflects a broader decline in precious metal prices in both local and international markets, affecting bullion traders, jewellers, and consumers tracking daily gold rates.

Data from the association showed that the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold fell by Rs1,543 to Rs448,184 from Rs449,727 recorded on the previous trading day. Similarly, the rate of 10 grams of 22-karat gold declined by Rs1,414 to Rs410,850 from Rs412,264.

Silver prices also moved lower in the domestic market. The price of silver per tola dropped by Rs100 to Rs8,441 from Rs8,541, while the rate for 10 grams of silver decreased by Rs86 to Rs7,236 compared with Rs7,322 a day earlier.

In the international market, gold prices also registered a decline. The global rate of gold fell by $18 to $5,000 per ounce from $5,018, while silver prices dropped by $1 to $79.57 per ounce, according to the association.

Gold rates in Pakistan typically follow international market trends, along with movements in the rupee-dollar exchange rate and changes in trading demand within the local bullion market.
