Domestic gold prices generally track movements in the international bullion market and the rupee-dollar exchange rate. Local demand, particularly from jewellers and wedding buyers, can also influence retail prices.

Buyers advised to check additional charges

Jewellery buyers may pay more than the prevailing bullion rate because jewellers separately add making, design and wastage charges.

Customers should confirm the purity and net weight of the gold and ask for a clear breakdown of the metal price and labour charges before completing a purchase.

Gold rates may vary slightly between cities and individual dealers. Buyers are advised to verify the latest price with their local Sarafa market or jeweller before making a transaction.
