The Gajju Khan Medical College MTI Swabi, organized its first convocation since its inception. The convocation ceremony was held at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI), where more than 200 graduates were awarded their MBBS professional degrees, including 100 gold medals to the successful graduates. The ceremony was graced by the Honorable Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, as the Chief Guest. Notable attendees included former Speaker of the National Assembly, Asad Qaiser, and former Provincial Minister, Shahram Khan Tarakai, the Chairman and Members of the Board of Governors (BOG), Dean/CEO, Medical Director, all faculty members, and former principals of the college. Addressing the convocation, the Chief Minister announced plans to establish cardiac centers region-wise, with future expansion on a divisional level. CM KP also committed to completing the remaining construction of the purpose-built medical college building during his tenure. Furthermore, the CM expressed his support for the expansion of Bacha Khan Medical Complex. The Chief Minister congratulated all MBBS graduates and their parents, highlighting that medicine is a noble profession, and urged the young doctors to serve society with commitment and compassion. Dean/CEO Prof. Dr. Shams-Ur-Rehman, in his address, stated that the college building was originally planned to be completed by June 2024, but due to a lack of funds, the construction has been delayed. Dean/CEO briefed the Chief Minister on the college’s achievements and shared that GKMC is the only medical college in the province where 100% of students have passed the KMU MBBS exams for four consecutive years. At the end of the ceremony, shields and awards were distributed among faculty members, and a special award was presented to the Chief Minister by the management.
