ISLAMABAD, October 2, 2026: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has explained the procedure for obtaining a digital identity card through its Pak ID mobile application.
According to NADRA, obtaining a digital identity card is a simple process. Citizens need to log in to their account on the Pak ID mobile app and select the Digital ID option.
The application will be processed according to the user’s verified profile, after which the digital identity card will become available in the ID Vault.
NADRA said identity verification and biometric authentication are required to obtain the digital ID.
New Features of the Pak ID App
The latest version of the NADRA Pak ID mobile app, version 5.8.0, includes several new features aimed at making digital identity services more accessible.
Citizens can now obtain, securely store and share the digital identity cards of their spouse and eligible children through the app when required.
The updated app also allows users to verify a B-Form or Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) cancellation certificate by using the Scan QR Code option. Users can scan the digital QR code to view the verified information.
The latest version also facilitates biometric verification for influenza and meningitis vaccinations required for Hajj or Umrah.
NADRA’s digital identity services are part of its efforts to expand secure digital access to identity-related services and reduce the need for citizens to rely solely on physical documents.
