ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to distribute the fifth and sixth installments of the Fuel Subsidy Scheme during the current month, providing relief to public transport operators, motorcycle owners and farmers.
The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, where officials reviewed the mechanism for delivering fuel subsidies and assessed progress on the scheme’s implementation.
The meeting also examined measures related to transparency, accountability and coordination with provincial governments to ensure smooth distribution of financial assistance.
Speaking on the occasion, Ishaq Dar said the scheme is intended to provide direct relief to ordinary citizens and people associated with the agriculture sector. He added that all available resources are being utilized to ensure effective implementation.
Participants agreed that the fifth and sixth installments would be distributed to eligible beneficiaries within the current month.
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the overall progress of the scheme and directed officials to continue efforts to ensure timely delivery of assistance.
