According to reports, at Nantes railway station in France, a passenger named David was talking to his sister on the phone with the speaker on when a railway official approached him. The official asked him to turn off the speaker and warned that failure to do so would result in a fine.
David thought the official was joking and started laughing. However, he was immediately fined €150, which later increased to €200 (approximately 58,000 PKR) because he was unable to pay on the spot.
The railway station administration took this step after receiving complaints from passengers who were disturbed by David’s loud conversation.
