Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has officially inaugurated the CM Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme aimed at providing lasting relief from expensive electricity to the public. Under this initiative, 100,000 solar systems will be installed across the province to benefit consumers in Punjab.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz stated, “The purpose of this scheme is to free citizens from hefty electricity bills and provide them with sustainable energy sources.” She further emphasized that public resources will be utilized for the benefit and relief of the people.
During a briefing on the scheme, the Provincial Secretary of Energy explained that under this initiative, solar systems will be provided free of charge to consumers using up to 200 units of electricity per month. He also mentioned that consumers using 100 units per month will receive a free 550-watt solar system. Applications for the scheme can be submitted starting today via SMS or through an online portal.
